The Concept G4 was recently previewed at the 5th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition.

The Concept G4 is a vision for a new compact sedan which Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) plans to roll out globally. The Concept G4 uses a high-clarity brilliant-cut diamond motif in the design of the front grille, headlamps and rear combination lamps to create a frontal visage with a commanding presence and a tail end which leaves a sharp impression as it drives off into the distance.
    The Concept G4 carries next-generation compact sedan styling featuring
  • a short nose which delivers an outstanding forward field of view and superior maneuverability,
  • graceful and flowing side proportions which balances interior space among the most generous in its class with very sleek aerodynamics, and
  • a dynamic character line which kicks up towards the rear.
The Concept G4 achieves fuel efficiency that is among the best in its class as its RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body – the lightest in its class due to the extensive use of high-tensile steel – is powered by a lightweight and compact 1.2-liter MIVEC engine mated to a CVT with sub-geartrain in addition to uncompromising weight reduction throughout.

The Concept G4 delivers driving pleasure thanks to the agile and pleasing driving dynamics stemming from its lighter weight as well as its reassuring handling/stability and comfortable ride. Passenger comfort is enhanced by the high hip point and large door openings which facilitate entry and exit as well as by its generous rear seat leg space.

Asian Auto Fuel Efficiency Awards 2012

Double Joy for Mitsubishi Mirage and Pajero Sport VGT at the Asian Auto Fuel Efficiency Awards 2012
Winning awards has become a yearly affair for Mitsubishi vehicles. This time around, monthly car magazine Asian Auto has awarded two category wins in its annual Fuel Efficiency awards 2012. The Mitsubishi Mirage and the Pajero Sport VGT both claimed first prize in the Compact City Cars and the Premium SUVs category. 

The Mirage launched in November is developed on the concept of ‘compact’, ‘affordability’ and ‘high fuel efficiency’. With focus on fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness, the Mirage is capable of an impressive 21 km per litre of petrol as measured in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).

The Pajero Sport VGT also defended its first place title last year in the Premium SUV category. The SUV impressed the judges by being “large, spacious, hardy and equipped with modern diesel engines”. Since coming on the scene in 2009, the seven-seater Pajero Sport – which counts space, ride comfort, robustness, economy and a Dakar Rally heritage as its strengths – has been a serial winner.

The organizers of the Asian Auto Fuel Efficiency Awards claims that this award is the first for the Malaysian and regional automotive industry and it is the only automotive award that encourages car manufacturers to offer better quality vehicles with the latest engineering and technology that promotes fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

Compact SUV Mitsubishi ASX Facelift Introduced

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, has officially launched the new ASX facelift today. This stylish compact SUV now comes with a refreshed exterior incorporating a new front grille design.

What’s more, the latest Mitsubishi ASX adds on panoramic glass roof, auto rain and light sensors, GPS Navigation with Bluetooth and iPod connectivity as standard features to enhance driving comfort and convenience.

Priced at RM 139,981.50 on the road without insurance, the ASX is obtainable in four colours – White Pearl, Titanium Grey, Black Mica and Red Metallic.

Other standard equipment in the ASX includes keyless entry with push-start operation, auto retractable side mirrors, auto cruise control, leather seats, automatic air conditioning , 17” alloy rims, paddle shifters, cruise control, coloured LCD Multi-Info Display and a 2-DIN touch screen entertainment system. To aid parking and reversing, the ASX comes with both front and rear sensors as well as a rear view camera.

For optimum performance, the ASX is equipped with 2.0-litre 16-Valve inline-4 DOHC MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control), as well as INVECS-III CVT transmission with 6-step sports mode that’s quiet, efficient and eliminates the harshness and power lag of a conventional gear changes.
It is capable of a maximum output of 150 PS at 6,000 rpm, with a maximum torque of 197 Nm at 4,200rpm.

The ASX is the most fuel efficient compact SUV in its class boasting 13.2km/liter (tested and verified by Paultan.org) making it an ideal ride who those who are always on the move. It has a lightweight chassis frame of 1,375kg and aluminum block engine of low co-efficient drag of 0.33 due to its aerodynamic body shape and design. Its MIVEC engine controls the timing and duration of the intake and exhaust cam shafts for optimal performance across the rev range.

For safety purposes, the ASX comes with standard Active Stability Control (ASC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) – to make it easy to start off on a steep uphill slope by preventing the vehicle from rolling backward. 

The ASX also comes with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), pretensioners and force limiters seatbelts as well as dual-stage SRS airbags plus a driver’s knee airbag. 

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has also made available a range of optional accessories for the new ASX. Owners can now also choose to further differentiate their new ride from the rest with three different packages as offered below:

Built to withstand the harshest conditions, the Triton Heavy Duty comes with a reliable powertrain, 2.8-liter non-direct injection and non-turbo diesel engine which produce a maximum output of 97 PS at 4,000 rpm, with a maximum torque of 198 Nm at 2,000rpm.

The Triton Heavy Duty also comes with mud-terrain tyres with 16” light alloy wheels as standard equipment ready for off-road operations.

Applicable for commercial registration only, the Triton Heavy Duty is priced at RM 72,037.60* on-the-road without insurance. The affordable and fully imported Triton Heavy Duty is available in White Solid. The non-direct injection and non-turbo diesel engine of 2.8L is able to accept lower grade fuel which is commonly found in remote areas and construction sites.  In addition, its tough drive terrain comes with Heavy Duty Suspension (gas-type shock absorbers) which increases vehicle stability on rough terrain. 


That’s not all, the 5-speed manual transmission Triton Heavy Duty has its power channelled to the wheels via Mitsubishi’s Easy Select 4WD system which allows the driver to ‘shift on the fly’ from 2WD to 4WD at speeds of up to 100km/h.

Most fuel-efficient, compact Mitsubishi Mirage showcases at Menara Matrade and Sunway Pyramid this week!

The Mirage is a compact car that counts fuel economy and ease of use as unique selling points.
